6 Reasons You Should Enter the CES Innovation Awards Competition


“The CES Innovation Awards is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products.”

On August 6th 2018 the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), host and sponsor of the CES, will open the CES 2019 Innovation Awards Call for Entries. Applicants will have until September 19th to submit their application(s) in one of 28 categories, ranging from Wearable Technologies to Cybersecurity, Robotics, and  Drones. The results will be unveiled at “CES Unveiled Paris” on October 3rd and honorees will be officially notified by email on October 5th.

To participate in the CES 2019 Innovation Awards competition, you must comply with certain rules. In particular you need to:

  • Present a brand new product / model. Entries submitted in a previous year won’t be accepted unless you present a major novelty i.e. unless, “unique and innovative enhancements have been made to the original product.”
  • Manufacture, design, engineer, or promote consumer technology products marketed in the United States or be an authorized agent of the organization or individual who is authorized to submit entries.


Please note that you don’t need to be an exhibitor at CES to apply. However, if you’re not exhibiting, your product will be assessed a higher entry fee and may not be displayed in the Innovation Showcase at CES or on the CES website.

Products entered must be available for sale to the public, for the first time, in U.S. retail outlets or on the internet between April 1, 2018, and April 1, 2019.


The CES Innovation Awards jury is composed of international experts including innovative entrepreneurs, members of the media, and influencers. Each product category is judged by  a panel of 3 professionals including a consumer technology designer, an engineer, and a journalist from the specialized press.
